About the Artist:

Henri Léopold Masson (1907–1996) was a prominent Canadian landscape painter known for his vivid depictions of the Canadian wilderness. Born in Belgium, Masson immigrated to Canada in 1921 and quickly fell in love with the country's rugged landscapes. He became a leading figure in the Montreal art scene and was a founding member of the influential Canadian Group of Painters. Masson's distinctive style, characterized by bold brushwork and vibrant colors, captured the raw beauty and untamed spirit of the Canadian wilderness, earning him widespread acclaim both at home and abroad.
