About Daum Nancy

Founded in 1878 in Nancy, France, Daum became one of the foremost studios of the Art Nouveau movement, achieving international acclaim for its exquisitely detailed cameo glass. Under the direction of brothers Antonin and Auguste Daum, the firm specialized in layered glassworks that were acid-etched and often hand-painted or wheel-carved, depicting natural motifs such as trees, flowers, and landscapes.

Daum’s collaborations with École de Nancy artists and its distinctive use of color and texture elevated the firm to the same prestige as Gallé. The presence of the Cross of Lorraine in the signature confirms the authenticity and early origin of their pieces. Today, Daum remains synonymous with artistry and elegance in decorative glass.
