Pair of Antique Japanese Imari Vases – Meiji Period (1868–1912)

Height: 15" | Base Diameter: 3.5"
Condition: Very Good
Origin: Japan, Meiji Period

A beautifully balanced pair of long-necked Imari vases from the Meiji period, each featuring a gracefully flared neck and bulbous body. The vases are richly decorated in the traditional Imari palette of white, cobalt blue, burnt orange, and gold—a color scheme that originated in 17th-century Japan and came to symbolize elegance, vitality, and refined luxury in Japanese ceramics.

Adorned with intricate floral motifs, the surface design reflects both harmony and abundance, key themes in Japanese decorative arts. Though unmarked, the form, glazing, and decoration are consistent with authentic Meiji-period production.

Both vases are in very good condition, showing only minor age-appropriate wear and no visible cracks or chips. An exquisite example of antique Japanese porcelain that brings both artistry and history to any collection or interior.
