Victorian mourning pin/brooch in 14-15K ( unstamped tested) yellow gold in an oval puffed-style design with raised oval centre engraved with a floral design and a twisted rope border, surrounded by cobalt blue fleur -de-lis enamel border. The oval centre opens to show a transparent covered frame to hold a personal momento or photograph. The revers of the brooch has a puffed gold border surrounding the back of the oval transparent frame. The back of the brooch is engraved "Lizzie obt 17th Aug 1863. The brooch closes with a barrel hinged wire post and c-catch.
